System tasks
RailCom monitors the non-discriminatory performance of system tasks by a system manager commissioned by the Federal Office of Transport and settles disputes. Currently, the following system tasks exist:
- Customer information
- European Train Control System (ETCS)
- Train communication (GSM-R, FRMCS)
- Exchange for timetable notification and operational messages (TAF/TAP TSI)
- 16.7 Hz traction current
- Train control system for metre-gauge and narrow-gauge railways (ZBMS)
- Interaction vehicle/metre-gauge track
- Railway noise
- metre-gauge track centers
ZBMS is managed by RhB, Interaction vehicle/metre-gauge track and metre-gauge track centers by RAILplus, the other six by SBB/CFF.
